I've found the relaxation guided imagery from Kaiser that Mio suggested to be very powerful for me so I've put it down as a Pleasant Activity on my list so I can try to do it more often. I interested my wife (aka care receiver) in it so now we've listened together a few times. She enjoys it although she doesn't visualize as I do. She wasn't much of a visual thinker before so with visual variant AD it isn't surprising that she's mostly listening to the music.

So, a relaxation technique with my loved one seems to be keeping things nicely calm in late afternoon and gives me a break before moving from the day's activities to fixing dinner and getting her to bed rather than trying to hurry.

I am so glad to hear that you and your wife can enjoy the guided imagery together. (Yes, it's OK she does not visualize the image as you do but she can relax by listening to the music. )
There are many more out there.
I hope you find varieties of guided imagery which work for you and your wife. More relaxed you are, easier to go through the situation.

Enjoy!
